Tired and Uninspired?
I can feel it rising up in me. The creativity, the inspiration, the motivation and clarity. It’s no surprise since I cried out to God last week begging Him to bring it back. Begging Him to fan the flame in my soul and wake me up to my calling. Immediately after I got off the floor from praying I remembered that this happened to me last year- I lost my momentum and inspiration. God reminded me of His advice He gave me last year when I cried out… “If you want to keep the fire alive within you, you have to daily come to the fuel to keep it burning.” It’s that simple honestly.
We’ve all felt the explosive inspiration within us that keeps us up late working on passion projects and that wakes us up early the first time our alarm goes off. But we’ve also experienced the flip side of this- being tired, or perhaps even exhausted. Feeling dread and guilt because we know we need to be working on our projects that God has given to us. We pray that God shows the way but then procrastinate, hide in fear or just flat out ignore the path that’s lit up in front of us. Maybe busyness distracts us? Maybe it’s our own self-doubt and self-worth? Whatever it is, it needs to stop.
The saying that my Podcast show was built upon is “WAKE UP! You’re not tired, you’re just uninspired.” The only way to keep the flame within us roaring is to come to God every single day and He will show up. How can I be so sure? He promises us in scripture:
“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” James 4:8
As the new year approaches, I’m going to be posting more blogs with my thoughts and advice, documenting what I’m doing in order to bring me out of fear, anxiety, over-thinking, isolation, distraction and more. If you need help with this, then please join me.
We have been given the vision, the dreams, the clarity, the plans, and it is time that we walk into them with the boldness, confidences, and strength of the Lord.
This world is a terrible place, the end is near and we cannot stand by frozen in fear and in our thoughts. We must fight. We have a Kingdom to grow and a purpose to fulfill!
APPLICATION:
I want you to start reading a chapter in Proverbs daily. Whatever day it is, today is the 14th, that’s the chapter you read in Proverbs.
Pray before you start to understand what it says and to open your mind to whatever God is trying to show you.
Circle any word you don’t fully understand, look up its meaning and write it next to it.
Highlight any part that really speaks to your soul and stands out as something you want to remember.
Write down any questions you can think of pertaining to the text.
The goal is to do this as consistent as you can, not to do it perfectly. If you miss a day or two it’s okay, just get back on track as soon as possible. I have several chapters in Proverbs that are missing notes and highlights because I missed doing it that day, and it’s okay. Every month there’s another opportunity.
Also, the goal is to read each chapter slowly, not speed through it. Keep re-reading if you don’t understand something and ask God to show you what you’re reading.
God bless you, I love you dearly and I’m praying for you.
XOXO,
Tarryn
